MAPLE - AHORN Original print graphic etching Vernis mou with embossing in frame 30x40 cm

Vernis mou etching, hand-made intaglio with several blind embossings on 300 g/m² Hahnemühle handmade copperplate printing board 30 x 40 cm, natural white, acid-free, age-resistant. I transferred dried maple leaves to the zinc plate using a soft-ground etching. The finest leaf structures become visible during printing. The embossing then takes place in two further printing processes.

The young maple leaves (harvested until April) are healthy and edible. They taste good in soups, in salads, as a spinach alternative or as a tea infusion. Maple syrup can be made from the flowers. Maple has anti-inflammatory, fever-reducing and blood pressure-lowering properties.
Fresh leaves can be applied directly to insect bites or bruises to provide relief.
